In game options has Advanced button above the LOD Bias area at the bottom, using alt O to open. I turned off all the selections, then I set the sky refresh and other options to low. I turned new water in old zones to off. I have yet to have the problem again which is great, cause who doesn't enjoy playing eq every now and again.
