Cool Frequent FPS spikes when turning.

Hey everyone. I've been having frequent FPS drops when turning. My screen will freeze for about .25 to .5 seconds before immediately clipping to where my turn would have been had my screen not frozen, which is very disorienting (particularly when trying to follow people).

It seems to only happen when I'm turning, which is very strange.

I am running on Windows 11 with single core affinity. Are there any other tricks I should do to try to improve performance, or is this just how EverQuest runs? (I tried running in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode but had the same issue)

Are you using your mouse to turn? Try turning down the sample rate.

Do you use dgvoodoo2?

I am using my mouse. Where do I change the sample rate, I tried looking and I haven't found anything.

I don't use dgvoodoo2 or wineq2 or anything like that. I just run EQ in windowed mode.

For some reason my game keeps resetting to 60hz even when I keep setting it to 144hz.

The client's locked at 60 fps now to prevent people flying with levitate or some other nonsense with game mechanics.

Does your mouse have any accompanying software? I've seen several threads like this one where people say reducing the polling rate helps.
