Been a long while since i posted on these forums.

But this is the only thing i'm interested in. The second they start a new server, Me and my crew are all in. Would love to hear anything at all from the people running the game. Because if there was no intention of ever starting a new server, that's good info to know. Friends would love to play, but they want to play from the start and don't want to roll characters only to start over in the next few months to half a year. but there's no info on anything. just assumptions from a wide range of people here.. Any info would be appreciated.

We don't have any info on timing. We do have statements from Nilbog about certain recent changes (such as some mobs not existing past a certain time) being applicable to "future iterations of the server".

They have also been making patch changes that would've been made at earlier points in the timeline.

All of this would indicate that there will be a new server eventually. We just don't know when. If I had to bet, I would say close to end of this year if we're lucky.

This means they haven't ruled out the possibility of a new server but it doesn't mean they have a timeline for a new one.

No kidding, that's literally what I said in my post haha.

They're working towards doing one eventually but they don't know when for sure yet, which is why they haven't released a date. I would think it's probably late this year early next year.

Yeah I was unclear, what I meant is it is possible they have no concrete plans for a new server. Many people seem to think it is coming this year but unless i missed something I don't think they hinted at anything being in the works?

I think the biggest hint, reading between the lines, is the renewed focus on patch frequency and specifically implementing patch content that has 0 impact on any of the servers in their current end state and would only have an impact on P99 if a new server is started.

I wrote this off on the first patch since it had been 3 years between patches as maybe they just did the fix a long time ago and its finally getting implemented 3 years later, but we see continued examples of it in following patches and activity in the bug fix forum.

The main thing we've seen the devs communicate that they know is still not truly classic are resists specifically on spell lines, the devs have outlines the current settings are a temporary bandaid for a larger overhaul of that area. I believe this is a remaining frontier they want to tackle before a new server is considered.

Yeah it is a good sign but for the spell resists I think the main problem is lack of data from what I understand. I

I feel a main hurdle is starting a new server when CSR is ears deep in petitions already. Not sure if they figured out a mostly hassle free merge of green/blue either.

The fact they're coming up with cool GM events in 2024-2025 is encouraging though.
