The wiki states "The Coldain will fight all the creatures in the zone, so you can use the Coldain as "guards" if you wish."

Normally, you could edit the wiki yourself, but new registrations are disabled for the moment.
Since you can't, I've updated that section to "The Coldain will fight most creatures in the zone, so you can use them as "guards" if you wish (although not against the geonids)."

They probably don't fight geonids specifically because geonids are on a faction and are indifferent to all by default.
