![]() Do DoTs stack with others of the same spell?
For example, if two necros are duoing, will their Darkness spells stack if each necro uses it? Same with two druids. Would their DoTs stack with each other (if each druid uses Insect Swarm, will both spells do damage)? If I remember right, in Classic EQ, they did not, so there's literally no point in having two necros in a group or in a raid. However, that did change at some point (today in live, necro spells do stack as long as both are cast by different toons) but I can't remember when that changed. I know that a single player can't put two identical DoTs on a mob, but can two different players use the same DoT and have it stack?

For the Clinging Darkness line of spells, they do not stack because of the snare component. The highest level spell will take priority. You could do something like Necro A casts Envenomed Bolt and Necro B casts Venom of the Snake if you wanted to stack the same DoT line while only having 1 poison spell on each Necro's spell bar. Or have Necro A in charge of Envenomed Bolt + Devouring Darkness and Necro B in charge of Pyrocuror + Cessation of Cor. This would mainly be useful to save mana and spell slots on both Necros, while stacking a good number of DoTs. Not really sure if there is a practical application for this, but you can think about it for whatever scenario you are envisioning. I would imagine in an XP Group Necro duo that many DoTs would be overkill, as XP mobs don't have that much HP. In raids mobs tend to have high resists, which makes DoTs impractical, even if they did stack, and you didn't have the 15 buff limit.

![]() In most grind groups coordination of who’s dotting what probably makes the most sense. Poison will act the fastest so I’d prioritize those if you have two ranks and split up utility duties. With extra mana you can dump on extra taps/nukes.
Similar logic to other duplicated classes. Ideally you will have more variety but if you can get it done and people are having fun that’s what matters. The xp grind game is typically less challenging and more community based.

![]() Coordination with the other person of the same class in your group is the only way to make it effective. Establish who is going to do what or you're just going to be overriding each other.
