So what’s the process to “pick one” for a spell? Like when I root right now on my enchanter, it throws up all roots. Is there a way to deactivate the others but not delete them?
You have to open the filters and check which root you want. There are check boxes for each spell

How do you guys manage spells with the same combat text but different durations?

Like if you use fetter and use trigger "adhere to the ground" and it throws up a 3mins root timer but you want it to break earlier and overwrite it with root, it will also throw a 3mins timer for a 48sec spell.

You can always use the casting message and add casting time to the timer but if it gets interrupted or you cancel casting, you're stuck with bogus timers.

Fuck that I'm not keeping track of 16 buffs/debuffs/cooldowns on 16 different timers at all times. Most of them could be a single spell instead of 2-3 different versions of mostly the same shit.

I'm glad you guys play warrior/rogues and have strong opinions on this though.

Roll a shaman, FOS is the all for one buff you're seeking! Also I just buff myself first then recast in a round when mine starts to fade for group stuff. If its a raid I don't think anyone is tracking/proactively rebuffing people just /rt and cast the request.

Let's be honest you're just clicking that shitty snake stick anyway when the rogues are asking for a proper haste buff (even worse you click it way late or without asking and use it to override the good one).

I wish I had the shitty snake stick but I wish even more we had group haste.

Yeah honestly for the whole buffing thing I could play it by hear and sometimes do but the countdowns on lull are often crucial. Knowing when TOT is coming back up can be clutch and root/slow timers are pretty cool too. Respawn timer helps managing mana so that's nice.

Played a shaman to 50 on live and buffing was annoying but canni did me in. My wizard life was a lot more simple!

For important buffs like clarity/sow/HP its good to have them on you anyway so you've got an inbuilt timer in your buff bar. If they're down for you then everyone needs them.

If that wizard really wants a charisma buff he can just re-ask for it when it fades. That's my attitude anyway...doesn't need to be GINA level ocd.

Things like melee haste I'll just top it up when my mana is good.
