Most of us have actually grown up, and realize that spending 26 hours for a raster camp is not healthy gaming. Getting items because you were able to do the content, and not locked behind an arbitrary time gate. It doesn't make it welfare. It just means its accessible. If you think things being accessible is a problem, you dont get why people like PQ and most of the people who were on PQ will never come back here.
I wonder if anyone age 30+ played the original game in 1999 or if it was only other 14 year olds? Hmmm..

Again, the draft specifically addresses the accessibility issue, you have a week to schedule your targets. It's quite a good balance. You just sound like you're pissed you don't got.

A lot of older folks played on my server. See them passing away fairly frequently on the facebook group [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Im in the same boat as the other guy, i have limited play time - and dont have the ability to get up at 1am / 6am -or leave work at 2pm for batphones. but id still rather spend that limited play time on P99 EQ than any other garbage EZ-Mode MMO.

I was finishing my doctorate when eq came out. I'm an insomniac (note: was. SOLVED.). I like to do two things at once in order to concentrate. I used to work on one computer, play eq on another, and then run MOO2 on an old Zenith laptop.

During Kunark era my exp grp usually included this cleric named Goza Gix. He was like 60.

Posts like these always confuse me. Like, you're on the P99 forum talking about how classic EQ is bad and the other servers are better for various reasons. Okay...so why are you here on these forums then? Go over there.

In any case, "will never come back here"...this seems like a quote that's going to age like milk if either of 1. A new P99 server is launched sometime in the future or 2. PQ gets shut down by Daybreak.

It is sad, but an immobile hobby + the massive time committment + 25 years passage of time is a hell of a combo.
If any of you were active on forums in the first few years of the game, there's a good chance a lot of those people are gone now or in terrible health. Take care of yourselves.

I started online gaming during the mid 90's in MMO-flightsims. The average age of players--then--was in their 40's and 50's because paying by the hour on top of long distance telephone fees was beyond the means of most teenagers for obvious reasons. I still hang around that community to some degree. Over the past thirty years, but especially over the past decade, we've said good-bye to a LOT of well-known players as age takes its inevitable toll. The MMO-RPG community veers younger than the flightsim community did on average, but it'll get there too, soon enough. I knew one older couple on P99, they were round 70, which eventually was reduced to just one of them ever logging on at a given time. Turned out the wife had passed away.
