![]() Like Deep Rock Galactic for example. Everyone knows you can just download a 9 billion level savegame from the internet with everything unlocked. And if you can do that, doesn't it make the grind kinda useless and unsatisfying if you do not use that savegame? I gotta be honest, I enjoyed that game but as soon as I used the savegame I lost interest. For this reason I also do not play singleplayer games anymore like I used to in childhood, I prefer to watch them on YouTube with all the cutscenes. If I play a singleplayer (or multiplayer savegame) game for 1000 hours and then some stranger gets the game, uses a savegame, and has more than I grinded for in my 1000 hours of playtime, then WHAT IS THE POINT of grinding that game?
Would anyone play any MMO if you could just use a save editor or savegame and hax yourself all the best items? When I try to explain someone on YouTube or internet that I do not play online games that allow savegames or save editors (or any cheap way to get what you want) they stare at me like I'm an idiot. Then I tell them it's not fun to invest 1000 hours into a game when you can just download a savegame and use it in 1 minute. Why don't they understand that? Now I truly understand that some singleplayer games are fun to play, but it feels like I've played them all. Assassin's Creed 1, Rayman 3, Prince of Persia Trilogy... It doesn't look like there are still good singleplayer games being made... Story driven games... I actually completed Warrior Within once on Hard Mode and got every chest and secret weapon. Everything unlocked, and lost the savegame. But it doesn't matter, because you can use save editor and it was fun. I just don't understand how there can be people putting in thousands of hours into a game like Borderlands 4 or Deep Rock Galactic or Need For Speed Unbound, when you can just use a savegame and never get banned for it. At least in MMO games or Battlefield 6 for example you play the game forever and then you get level-ups or items in the game, platinum pieces in Project 1999 and that gives you something worth playing for. If you could just create a level 60 character with infinite platinum pieces in P99 and any items you wish for, would anyone take this game seriously anymore? Noone would play and grind in this game if it were so. That's why MMOs are always online and save your character's progress (inventory, money, level-up) on their dev servers so that noone can hax it for free. That's all I was saying all the time. But for some reason when I say this anywhere some guys look at me like I'm retarded. | ||

![]() I told some gamer in real life I won't like playing Borderlands 4 when it comes because it is a savegame game, so you can play it for 1000 hours or more, then I'll join in with 1 hour playtime and have more money and weapons than your character. He looked at me like I'm strange. Am I not right here? What's the point of grinding a game like that, a game that is all about the grind (money, better weapons) when you can just get it for free? I don't get it.

![]() It's a challenge. X-Com is one of my old favorites and the variables along the way are what keep it fresh...some of those runs can be quite a timesink.

![]() I do it for myself in nms even though I can just cheat everything in. It's fun to set goals and accomplish them!
