THJ are using 8 year old twitter screenshots of former DBG employees personal opinions as evidence. Screenshots of 6 year old PC gamer articles on P99 where the article explicitly references the agreement and it only gets worse. It all looks extremely amateur and only a couple of their contributions to their defense look like it was actually written by a lawyer. I would be willing to bet that the law firm took an easy L for the money, grifters being grifted hahaha
HAHAH They actually posted a screen shot of some steam community thing or something where THJ outnumbers Official everquest by DOUBLE. They introduced this as a defense! HAHAHAHAHAHA

Sidenote, Secrets with the dagger in THJ back for entering an official agreement with DBG. Now DBG lawyers have 2 examples of emulators that "Did it the right way"

Eh, I think THJ will face fines, may or may not be forced to shut down - but as far as other emu servers: as long as they don't try to make money it should be alright.

Reading some of the defense's arguments is pretty.. shocking. They claim that DBG delayed a response to their request for an agreement - meanwhile DBG shows that the only attempt at communication was an anonymous email with no mention of the server name, or the devs behind it - that got forwarded to junk.

The defense lawyers bring up cases to show that most companies act faster than DBG did to file infringement suits, meanwhile - DBG lawyers show that they actually acted faster than any of the examples THJ lawyers used.

They are getting smoked by DBG lawyers, truly.

Courts don't typically allow things to be solved in half-measures, THJ's only competent defense argument is that EQEmu was allowed to exist in good faith. California inparticular has to be very careful on what it does with intellectual property, it's the states golden goose egg.

It's such an egregious illicit business from stolen IP I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this was prison time shit

I had to look that word up, yea you're right im looking through it right now and the amount of stuff they have contributed to their defense that reinforces DBG's position is mind boggling lol. I can't believe their lawyers allowed that, seems like sabotage.
