Quest Issue: Keeper Rott's Pages - Classically Broken

The quest for Keeper Rott's Pages appears to have been broken until ~Apr2003 due to the illegible notes not dropping.

Source NPC: Keeper Rott, a necromancer spell merchant in the Keepers Grotto (near the Gauntlet/arena) in West Cabilis.

After getting your Occultist Skullcap from Master Kyvix you are directed to Keeper Rott for the next one (6th). Rott ends the new skullcap quest info with:

"Since you are headed in the general direction, I also have an [additional mission], if you do not mind."

You say, 'what additional mission?'

Keeper Rott grabs a fist full of scribble notes and throws them into the air in a rage. All these notes are useless to me without the first four note pages. While I ventured through the fields of the drixies, I was assaulted by a band of gobs. They were shamans. I heard them calling spirits. They took the first two pages before I escaped. Then I lost the [second two pages] the next day!! Blast!!

You say, 'where are the second two pages?'

Keeper Rott begins to curse. Luckily you do not understand the language, but you to feel a bit of spittle. ..and then there I was, almost home and then the Legion expedition leader decided we should explore a bit more near the Lake. Then I find myself up against the same type of gobs from the fields. I just ran for the exit an never looked back, but they still managed to swipe pages 3 and 4!!


I've been hunting the goblins of the mines in the northern part of the Lake of Ill Omen. I have killed Soothsayers and Spirtcallers but they only drop a shaman quest doll and mage/necro words. I'll be hunting around the ruins that have goblins too see if they drop them, or some other type of goblin shaman spawns there.

Anyone have any luck with the quest Keeper Rott gives to necros working on Revenant skullcap quest? It's a separate quest that he gives regarding 4 lost pages.. 2 in LOIO taken by Goblins near the lake, and 2 taken by Spirit Caller Goblins in the Field of Drixies (Firiona Vie I'm assuming).

Solved by some people on the allakhazam board and perhaps elsewhere. Apparently around mid/late april the notes started dropping in loio off spirit callers and soothsayers. I finished it last night and got Intensify Death a necro spell which I believe was research before similar to the quest Keeper Pain offers.

More Rare Drops

While looking for Spiritcallers in LOIO for a Nec Quest these pains kept agro even though they are green. Anyways after removing there heads from there bodies 1 of about 15 dropped the following two items. (same kill)
an illegible note (NO DROP LORE)
Greenscale Emerald (NO DROP LORE)

Anyone know what theses are for?
