The keybindings for the zoom in/out only works in certain camera views that are not all that ideal (can cycle through them with F9)

You can use the Chase camera which can mouse left/right but cannot mouse look up/down. You can set keys for pitch up and pitch down and the zoom keys do work in this view

I didn't know that; that may useful at some point. I would still like to switch from third person to first person without using the mouse for when I switch from a large space to a small space like when you enter a confined space in a dungeon.

You mean like a mouse with a scroll wheel? You can plug multiple mice into one computer and (barring technical issues) they'll both work.

If you don't want to move the mouse when you scroll, glue it to the desk, put an optical mouse on a surface that it can't handle, or use one of those ball mice that don't move (something like https://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Or...dp/B002OOWB3O/).

Also if you want to try ordering from the UK I think these guys actually do make a stand-alone wheel: https://fbperipherals.com/scroll-wheel-modules

Just to check, you do know about SHIFT + T, right? You can get a quick "look behind" without reaching for the mouse, but if you start wanting other angles you will need mouse movement.

I understand.

As a side note, tendon stretches (like where you hold your arm in front of you with your palm up, then pull your fingers back under the arm, for say 30 seconds) can help a lot. So can icing the arm a couple times a day, or taking large quantities of Ibuprofen (DO NOT do that last one without talking to your doctor first, as it can wreck your liver if you take too much ... but if you take the max amount for a week it can really get the inflammation down).

All that being said, I think if there's any solution to be found, it will likely have to come from your operating systems' accessibility features, which vary by OS. There is software that could solve it ... see https://superuser.com/questions/1198...-with-keyboard ... but the P99 Getting Started Guide says:

Quote:
Third party programs (MQ2 or SEQ, for example), Real Money Trades (RMT), and multi-boxing are not allowed on this server, and will result in a permanent ban for your account.
and the Play Nice Policies say:

Quote:
5. You may not use third-party programs on Project 1999.

The use of any third-party programs on Project 1999, including but not limited to, Macroquest/Macroquest2(MQ/MQ2), ShowEQ(SEQ), or any other program that interacts with the Everquest Titanium Client, is strictly prohibited. Use of any third-party programs will be detected and will result in the permanent banning of your account(s). No exceptions will be made, and once a ban has been enacted for violation of this rule it will not be reversed.

This includes programmable keyboards or other devices that creates multiple inputs for a single keystroke or automated task.

Wineq2 by Lavishsoft is the exception to this rule. In addition, any program that strictly reads log files is acceptable.
So I wouldn't try them unless you check with a staff member first.

I don't have the game in front of me right now so I can't say the specific names but if you look in the hotkey options, or perhaps in camera settings, there is a hotkey for 1st person view, and one called user defined.. the user defined key puts you into a 3rd person view just like F9 does, perhaps you cycle through F9 views till you find one you like and the user defined key does that one only.. i'm not sure.

I have these bound to F and G so i can easily switch back and forth between 1st and 3rd person, also if your scrolled out with the mouse wheel, pressing 1st person hotkey immediately puts you back, no scrolling required.
