Great suggestions coming in. One question I have is about Reaper of the Dead...isn't it only a shadow knight weapon? Of course if I take one poster's advice and just switch to shadow knight it that not be an issue, but I don't think I will as I like the feel of being a paladin...simply an aesthetic preference for me that I cannot explain rationally.
This was me. I played paladin on live and then started as a SK here because of all the "meta" advice. I had fun, but once I got to 30, I just realized I am, and will forever be, a paladin at heart. I just connect with the character more.

Anything usable from inventory won't have race / class restrictions.

Thats only to equip the item.

This. Set a percent you will cap at and don’t push the rule (keep in a general slot). Ex: Use LoH at 30% and cap at 20% no matter what.

Also, pick really easy stuff to kill. Don’t mess with things that can blind or hit you with a 600dd randomly. Don’t go with a permadeath toon if you want to adventure with variety of grind targets.

I am unsure I understand what you mean - wizards can cast staff of temperate flux from inventory but sadly warriors can’t. This seems to contradict your post.

I’ll try to explain my understanding. This is an ‘any slot / can equip’ clicky, i.e you can only click it if your race / class can equip it (though you don’t have to). ‘Must equip’ clickies require them to be equipped (so are also limited to what can wear them).

Some clickies are simply ‘any slot’ which means they can be cast from inventory even by race/class combos which can’t equip the item.

Getting back to the convo, Reaper of the Dead is an ‘any slot’ item, but not ‘can equip’ so can be cast from inventory even by race/classes which can’t equip it. Making it ideal for permadeath toons.

You can click it from inventory and there are no class/race restrictions. When clicking something from inventory you just need to place it in one of the 8 default slots (cannot click from inside a bag).

This is correct 3 separate categories of clickies.

Anyone can click it for the complete heal charge, regardless of class. To complete the quest you do need some factioned toons, but fresh level one characters can do that without any faction work. Just make a dark elf necromancer and you can do all the factioned steps with that character since the quest items are all dropable.

A few of these and a WC cap and you'll be in business.

On balance over the entire timeline played on p99, what has saved my toons the most, those without native SoW, has been J-boots, and WC cap.

And J-Lo, but that business is my own.
