Yeah SS chain legs and multiple Skargus heads down the drain here. The worst part is even if you're doing turn ins for your own toon if this issue occurs CSR won't provide any support because someone else prior to you turned in a portion of the quest you're completing and therefore they deem it as an MQ.
Yeah I forgot to mention that about self mqs. I do lots of MQs to myself on other toons (sounds sexual) but luckily it's only been botched once during a qeynos badge turn in.

I like southern comfort!

This would be super unclassic, granted, but it would make a nice compromise if there could just be a simple in game command that would list the quest items a targetted npc is holding. Then you could at least know the MQ isn't going to work and not lose it, but you'd still have to wait for a proper server reset or somebody else to finish the quest to proceed with getting the item.
