Hit 24, done with Gorge Hounds in EK, trying to find a similar place.

I've peeped SK and OT and neither have the mob density / density of animals for charming that EK did and wondering if there's a nice spot to transition to?

Looking at EFP, Mammoths range from 22-26 so that seems bad for now don't want to deal with all the resists / breaks.

It's annoying spiders aren't considered animals, could cruise on crag spiders in EK.

Or am I just kinda stuck with root rotting for awhile?
You're very close to being able to do CT gators. Pit first, then alley.

Sweet dungeon ZEM, but outdoor zone. Its probably too tough at 24, but by 27 should be your home til 34+.

OP, I know you said you tried and didn't like Overthere - but it's really a wonderful spot for druid charming. I did level 30-47 in Overthere in very short order. There are tiers of mobs, and the tiers that the respective tigers are in (lowbie Tigress, mid Tigress, Tiger) are the strongest mobs of their tier, which means they absolutely wreck other mobs.

Tigers are the beastliest, obviously - I could kill 6,7 other mobs with a single charmed tiger before it was low HP.

Tigresses are not quite as OP as tigers, but they are stronger than the same tier levels (ie: mid-level includes stoneleer cockatrice, sarnak berzerker, thorny succulents) And they similarly can tank 4 or more of these mobs before they are low HP.

Not to mention, its a large outdoor zone which means all of the fun druid spells work - and you can track mobs to kill. No dungeons to navigate, 6min respawn for fast kills. High level players rolling through for the occasional clarity. People buying ports.

Reconsider Overthere.

So what's the play here, buff it up a bit and just let it rock out until its low, eat the half XP loss on each mob in favor of volume?

Keep snared near the Warsliks zone. Pull to the pet. Kill anything with the pet and ignore the xp penalty. When lom or the pet is low health, zone and let it regen hps.

No. Pull mobs off to a side of the zone. Up a cliff or near the SF zoneline. Haste the tiger. Ensnare every mob. Use the tiger to get mobs to 10% and then back it off. Go get another mob. So this for 4-7 mobs. Then break the tiger and melee or DD the snared 10% hp mobs down. 10-20% xp gain. You can use your own HP / mana to prolong the tigers life and a squeeze out an extra mob or two before breaking.

The large dires in permafrost are level 24 (the upper limit for befriend) and there are a bunch of regular dires (about lvl 20) and young dires/pups you can easily turn over to spawn as higher mobs. You can also pull a large dires to the appropriate level goblin areas and use it as a consistent pet.

Dogz laid it out - that's precisely what I did. I lined up mobs with root and let tiger go down the line and get each one to like 5-10% HP. kept em rooted while the tiger kept fighting. once tiger was low HP, break charm and finish off each mob .

This is made easier / less mana costly with the Tunare root neck. At 45 its barely any mana with the ES vambraces. I stayed until 47 when most the mobs were green - and then moved to Sol B charming bats

Griffs in NK get attacked by guards at the tower. Can drag them over and charm at low health, break and finish away from the guards.

I'll be honest it sounds like this probably gets better around 29 and I'm definitely doing ok at 24 but, I'm not seeing these tigers hasted/thorns out here putting 6 mobs in a row to 10% hp before needing to be killed off. Even two mobs in a row is pushing it atm.

I hated druid charm until 29. Even doing CT crocs before then, whilst good xp, it just wasn't akin to charming on a necro. Ensnare changed (most) of that. Being able to line mobs up that wouldn't move for 6+ minutes and then kill them all for full xp was game changing. It takes a little figuring out, trail and error type thing, but you get an idea of which tiger(ess) to charm and what it can do. For example, 44 and savage spirit was another bit bump in the effectiveness of how many mobs could be lined up. And its not always that many mobs, sometimes you'll charm the lower level tigers or even the rhinos and maybe it'll be an even fight with a sarnak knight or you'll step in to use some of your own HP to get two mobs out of it. But once you get that max tiger it will easily do 4-7 mobs. And its so so efficient. I did 42, 43 and 44 all in one hour each (during the 50% xp bonus mind you) and 45 in 3 hours.
