Friend got one of these in a holiday gift box, I've heard they're something you can really quickly jump to like level 14-16 using, what are the best zones for this? Any cheap items to facilitate using it better or not worth?
Was planning on bringing a 49 druid to help him, buff up the pet. Does thorns stack with the fire pet DS? My gut reaction was like, Unrest courtyard? Million mobs around, I can help break up with the druid with harmony / pulling for him maybe? What've you done with this item?

If you have a 49 Druid buddy you can honestly just skip the brazier and you won’t have to have the pet eating half the xp. But if you insist then go with a staff of battle with the pet for fun. Either way warrens is best with the zem. But if you’re gonna plan a massive grind beyond 20 with the Druid helping the pet you could prob do upper Guk. Unrest has too long of a respawn time and not enough mobs unless it’s empty idk which server you’re on.

The mobs in unrest are a bit too strong for the Brazier pet. Easy to get overwhelmed. Also, as Crede pointed out - it's a long respawn, so the mobs might not be easy to come by.
Much better used on mobs 1-10, like in the Warrens. or Crushbone. Single brazier charge and you can get to level 10 in short order.

Field of Bones is a decent option too. Worth picking up a cheap 2-hander, something around 25/50 or whatever. Some banded or droga goblin armor helps with durability, and a pair of 4/45 rings might be worth it too.
And if your friend is rolling a pure caster I'd recommend getting to level 4 and training meditate before using the brazier. Pick up any important spells from the first couple of tiers as well, since you can't zone with the pet up. But Crede's right that with a 49 druid to help the brazier isn't as useful. It is really fun to use, though.

I have used them to PL a couple of my alts and a 60 druid PL goes much faster.
That being said, it is pretty fun to be a low level tearing through mobs. I typically give my pets Coldain Crossbows (no rent) and they hit for 60 damage. If there is a 60 cleric nearby, getting them to cast Aego on your pet will be worthwhile. I can't remember if you can give the pets torches to dual wield, but i's worth trying!

Go to Kurns, endless mobs that will take you to 25. There's even a safe room to stay logged in at if you want to sleep or whatever. Wait till lvl four for meditate than go there with spells extra food/water, and bring this for the pet:

I've got a cleric around level 5, he has an enchanter, our friend we're introducing to the game is also a level 5 mage in Crushbone. Is there anything we should be concerned about if we joined him in crushbone and both ripped our braziers? Is there any shit where like, the pets take all the XP since we aren't dealing much damage? Or since we're in a group it's all good? Can the pets just go to town and bowl over the zone? I was just thinking like "what's stopping two mages grouping and going AFK all night on a static spawn point?"

If you're grouped, pet wont take any exp. But even if solo, the pet kills so fast that the 50% exp is worth it.
