If both of you are simply playing off of your friend's router, then you won't be able to play together. You would need an IP exemption.

Don't worry! Playing from the same IP won’t get you banned. They only flag accounts for things like botting, exploiting, or other rule violations, not for sharing an IP with a friend.

My response may not be useful to you as I expect the time it takes to implement an IP exemption will exceed the amount of time until you visit your friend. Regardless, here is the information you would need, including links to a) where I got this information and b) start a thread to request the ip exemption in the appropriate forum:

Quote:
Please provide as much information as possible, like account names and character names, when petitioning, or your petition may be ignored.

IP Exemption: This is for requesting to be exempt from the limit of 1 connection per IP Address. You may request exemption if you have more than 1 real person playing from the same IP. When posting for this, please include the account names of every person that will be playing from the same IP, as well as the identities (real first names) / relations to those players, and please make sure that at least one character has been created under each account. Please verify the spelling of each account you specify. This format works best: Real first name - Relationship - Loginserver Account Name
If you fail to provide us the format we have requested it will delay your request.
If you have requested an IP Exemption in the past please provide those accounts too.
This will fix the "Temporary IP ban" error.

Have fun, and I hope your friend appreciates the set up and likes the server!

Jimjam gave you some great info. Our turn around time on IP Exemptions is typically same day with the new staff added so don't be discouraged from putting them in. It's not a guarantee but we've improved a lot on getting these processed quickly.

Oh that is super cool that this is prioritised now, it’s a lot of fun being able to pop round to a friend’s house and have a p99 party together with your irl pals.
