I've tried to edit something in the wiki, but it says I need to be a user to do that. So I click on Create a new user, and I get told I can't create a new user because I need to be an administrator to do that. How do you get permission to edit the wiki if you can't create a new user unless you're an admin?

I always recommend that people politely email Rogean. Without feedback, he has no way of knowing how many people are still impacted by this.

This usually means you’re running into a wiki that’s configured for admin-only account creation. In that setup, the workflow isn’t “create an account yourself → edit”; instead, it’s admin-mediated. | |||

User signups were disabled to stop a (non-P99) wiki spammer, maybe half a year ago, but that was meant to be a short-term fix until a proper fix (eg. adding a CAPTCHA to the signups) could be implemented. Unfortunately Rogean doesn't seem to have had the time to fix it, Rahvin (the other wiki box admin) hasn't played in years, and evidently Rogean doesn't trust any community members (eg. me) enough to bring in outside help. So, we all just have to wait for Rogean to have time (or enough trust to let someone like myself help).
