I do have a spade but I'm not even sure I want to bother with 2hb for 20-40. Deathbringer has a similar ratio to PWC and is 1hb. Also has +15wis, and allows for shield and its stats. At that point I'd probably keep it until epic.

PWC does set you up for a transition to spade but yeah, at 40 I'm not exactly sure how much I'll be meleeing anymore as I've only considered melee'ing to speed up the early leveling. It's only 500pp anyway, if I feel like I want to keep going melee at 20 I will consider it. Thanks for the suggestions.

VCS sure seems nice but I don't have 14k for that and the farming looks like a major slog.
Yeah Deathbringer is going to better than Posion Wind Censor. It has a slightly better ratio, and you can use a shield. You aren't getting main hand damage bonus anyway.

Hello all, if anyone is still following this thread, I have a few questions:

I am a returning player coming back after a long hiatus, and am prepared to spend all of my platinum accrued over 2 years of TunnelQuesting from 2021-2023 on a new toon.

I am between Enchanter, Necro and Druid.

Barring Manastone use (I don't have one, but might invest in one) - is an enchanter going to benefit from twinking? Or would a Necro benefit more? Seems a bit unclear in this particular post what the consensus is.

Thanks!

enchanter definitely benefits from twinking

205 cha > HP > AC > mana pool

i replied to your other thread too, just play enchanter

https://wiki.project1999.com/Enchanter#Gearing

get what you can from the velious pre-raid or kunark sets...if you have a ton of plat can buy a Z heart

if you cant find whats on there...can click on equipment on the wiki and search by slot for enchanter, sort by cha / hp

Kjs said it all.

For ench Cha makes charms more stable and hp will help survival.

You haven't talked about budget so on the cheap get opalline earrings, overseer's signets, syrin hair hood, rod of insidious glamour, crude stein, gypsy medallion, mask of secrets, sarnak bracers of honor, iksar skin gloves, blackened crystalline robe or robe of the elder serpent, drake hide leggings, spider fur lined boots or loam encrusted boots all for a bit more than a 5k budget probably. Then as you get more funds start upgrading for hp/mana/int, I found rings/earrings the easiest.

If you have like 200k that is another story.

A thing to note: they may eventually nerf lull into uselessness so you may or may not want to reconsider class choice since lull is a pretty big deal for chanters.

Enchanter is the most powerful but most risky. You'll be charming pretty much 100% of the time, and charm is a love it or hate it kind of thing. You will also invariably die a lot more on an Enchanter than pretty much any other class, especially if you aren't very talented or careful. But the tradeoff is that you can level solo very quickly, and ultimately kill mobs no other class can touch.

Necros are extremely versatile and highly survivable. With double invis, Harmshield, and feign death, they can basically go anywhere they want safely. A great choice if you like being totally self-sufficient and exploring out of the way places or dungeons. You have a variety of ways to kill mobs, can heal yourself, and regen mana very quickly. Additionally, even a modestly skilled Necro should rarely ever die.

Druids are also a very versatile class with a great deal of utility. They're highly mobile with teleports and SoW, and can level quickly via both quadding and animal charming (Druid charm is also typically very safe due to ensnare). Porting and powerleveling other players is an easy way to earn plat, and Druid buffs are always in demand. Probably the best casual-friendly class in the game, and surprisingly powerful in skilled hands.
