how can it be a dot com failure, there isnt even an internet to use.
there are like 6 chat bots that are exactly the same. Nobody is selling anything. And not a single person is investing in turning their grocery store into an AI. what crash could happen?

yes, RC Cola and Coca Cola are both sodas but one tastes like dogshit and the other is fucking coca cola the chat bots that can actually do stuff is gonna be the product, i just don't know how many people are going to be okay with letting the chat bot have access to all your accounts n stuff Anthropic and OpenAI are gonna fight that war and we'll see. millions of people bought Alexa home devices but Amazon still lost billions on it people do want some The Jetsons ass talking computers instead of how we currently browse the web and a Rosey the robot the shit isn't going away, it's gonna cost a lot prolly and your gonna get data-mined to shit for using any of it but customers are retarded and capitalism finds a way

I still haven't seen one example of an Ai you can trust with anything other than passing butter.
And even then you gotta be like, "Hi, I need you to help me with a task on the dinner table. [task] pass the butter, [action] Pickup and move the butter on the table to me, the user. Make sure you avoid objects on the table, ensure butter is passed and the user actually receives the butter [Negative prompt] Don't knock over anything, don't drive off the table and destroy yourself" When you literally could have just reached and grabbed it.

welcome to alpha testing/training, for free.
just like all the solving captchas resulted in image generation/vision and self driving car tech, all the people using the shitty models are doing RLHF training so new models suck less

Well I am looking forward to seeing some progress instead of hearing about.

My alma mater used to have a few different tracks for specialization in Post-Graduate studies. Power Generation/Transmission, Electronic Devices, RF, etc.. Now, all of the tracks are all Machine Learning and AI. They replaced professors with multiple disciplines with professors that specialize in one of two things: designing GPU / LPU chips, or programming AI.
