Default Phinigel Autropos – Monk/Shaman duo (60) viability & tips

I’ll be running a Monk + Shaman duo, both level 60 with decent gear.

From what I understand, the key points are:

Clean pull (FD splitting to avoid adds)
Landing slow quickly (Turgur’s)
Managing underwater breathing
Interrupting Phinny’s heals as much as possible

For those who’ve done it:

Is this duo comfortably enough at 60, or still a bit tight?
Any specific tips on pulling/positioning in Kedge?
How important is MR for this fight?
Better to fully clear around him first, or is a direct pull manageable?

Appreciate any advice or firsthand experience.

Thanks!

That duo should be pretty comfortable. I'd recommend fighting phinny in the lower part of the lair. I wouldn't recommend trying to clear the seahorses. The swirlspine seahorses are cleric mobs and when they die, a "swirlspine guardian" spawns immediately in the lower portion of the lair who are also highly MR cleric mobs.

I've done monk/druid duos where the monk fights phinny in the lower portion and the druid heals from the upper section of the lair (chloro/nature's touch both have long range).

If you want to be able to slow, I'd use the monk to aggro all of the seahorses (and Phinny if he is up), and have the shaman swim down and hide in one of the corners/cubbies in the lower half. Once the shaman is safe, the monk can flop aggro, let the mobs reset, and then flop down into the lair. Phinny is pretty easy to pull solo down there. Just be careful when he's in the middle and keep him low if possible.

Phinny is a wizard and casts cold, fire, and magic based nukes. He also procs a dispell on every melee hit that does damage. Buffs/Torpor outside of instant clickies should not be used by the tank because they will be immediately dispelled.

I'll add I'm pretty sure phinny is a belly caster, and try to keep the monk topped up because there's a chance for chunky damage with an ice comet.

Almost sure it casts some kind of AE dispell regularly, which affects itself. So no point buffing before the fight, no point slowing it, and no need to dispell its DS. Although it is a wizard, it is still a level 53 so it has quite a chunk of hp, 18khp according to wiki. It will absolutely spam rend, ice comet, gflux etc until it runs out of mana. If you have an expensive clicky, you can single pull it easily, every time, when it doesn't resist.
