With EQL announced, and MNM around the corner, what does it mean for P99 servers?

legit question: how does dbg explain EQL becoming more popular than any of the other servers? Why not just make a new game?

It was expensive to build everquest in 1996-7, but not in 2026. Just make a new ip, with similar technology but original assets, call it "retro" and have the multi-class game mechanics. Why does it have to be everquest?

THJ dimwits did the legwork, discovered that multiclass was a money maker using old IP. Stuck their heads up right into the lions mouth.
Lazy corporations love others doing the risky stuff. So, in a way THJ basically gave them the tested idea on a plate.

will EQL launch with a cash shop like the one THJ had? or will they slowly start inserting features that can me made better with just one easy "donation"?

other features they could include are those "world buffs" that got extended with THJbux, or the dungeon/instance waypoints you could unlock.. the whale possibilities are endless!

Multiclass was already being worked on before THJ was even a thought and it was likely being worked on specifically for what we now know as EQL. THJ devs were nothing but grifters that took other people's thoughts and property for their own personal gain. Effectively they are just squatters.

The IP holders may have had an 'idea' for multi-classing, which is not an original idea. But what's interesting is they actually hired Secrets and Rogean before THJ ever launched. Not likely, I made that up. But that would be the kind of non-existent evidence to convince people that EQL isn't exactly what it looks like.
