Hello from a returning player (22 year gap)

Hi all,

I have started playing again after a 22 year gap.
I used to play on VS server up until about 2004/5 when I left for EQ2 and eventually WoW for a few years, then a massive gap.
I wanted to experience as close to the original experience as I could, hence P99 and Green Server.

Was hoping PoK was available, but realised today that it isn't, so will level up in starting location before doing some travelling (which I'm looking forward to).

Massively trying to get used to the UI (Im sure I had my hotbars horizontally last time I played) and trying to remember everything.

Have rolled an Iksar Shaman (Nnjar) and got to level 5 today. I was suprised I saw so many sub level 8 characters in Field of Bone, was really nice. Hope I don't offend anyone by casting buffs on them as I run past.

Iksar Shaman is a solid choice, don't need to travel far unless you want to and usually people around to group with. Find a monk buddy and you're set once you get more of your spell kit.

As for UI you can check out a few options here: https://www.eqinterface.com/download...&sb=lastupdate Any of the p99 or Titanium ones will work. Duxa, QQ and Rustle seem to be the most popular, there's also a couple that you already have to choose from if you type /load.

Did have a bit of a chat to a monk the other day in field of bone, was logging off otherwise would have asked to group.
Definately finding I am bashing stuff more than casting atm with a fair bit of sitting, but enjoying the easy pace of things.

Currently in Lake of Ill Omen foraging for mudcrabs...

My son amusingly had a go yesterday and lasted a whole 15 mins before declaring it worst game ever. Lol. No appreciation for the classics. Im having fun.

At least I dont need to do a petition for an extra IP (though I used to play as did my wife years ago, she doesnt seem bothered atm).
