One of the things I liked most about DMO is how Erudite roleplay drove people to communicate in well-formed complete sentences and paragraphs.

I'm not going to deny that we picked up a couple members early on who first became interested in DMO because they thought it would be what the haters claim it was. But we drew a very hard line on that sort of behavior immediately. We made it perfectly clear that DMO is an Erudite roleplay guild and the only sort of hate we tolerate is towards people not from Odus. I am very touched by the fact that they all left that nonsense behind and came to truly embrace Erudite roleplaying and its many joys. Knowing that the Loramins of the world would just assume we were being racist drove us to roleplay and remain beyond reproach even harder. Erudite roleplay is so versatile for dealing with the numbskulls of Norrath.

However racist DMO players were or weren't in real life or on some random forum post, I don't know, and I don't care - it never had anything to do with DMO or had any place in DMO.

We got a guy named Basketball and told him he'd need to get a name-change or leave the guild. We rejected another guy for having something similar. The few times the couple dummies we had tried step over that line a little bit, we immediately put an end to it. And I love that even those guys - who probably had some lacking verbal skills normally - came to fully wield the Erudite roleplay and started sometimes forming complete sentences themselves.

DMO was a fantastic experience!
