This is why EQL Player retention is fucked. They are going to try and release xPacs for EQL, but the amount of effort put into the classic iteration compared to every subsequent xpac is going to be much different.

I'm not going to hate on something other people like, but I would like someone to explain the appeal?

I watch a friend stream it and he and his friend group were talking about how it's cool because you are OP and can do stuff you can wreck the content, and how it's awesome because you get to play the game completely alone. And that it actually feels more like WoW!

From my perspective if I want an easy mode MMO where I can just plow through mobs without a care in the world... I'll just play WoW. I personally play EQ because I am seeking a more difficult challenge.

It's just hard for me to fathom wanting to play EQ on easy mode.

Also apparently there isn't actually that much choice and everyone plays the meta anyways. I know all of my friends re-rolled to make sure they had a plate class as part of their combo.
