It's not even related to server population.
Only 250 online now and it's impossible to get in for me, did a few tries in the last hour and I kept getting the same error message.
Those post 50 levels are brutal and was hoping to take advantage of this, too bad.

Update: Server list has always worked, but just to cover the bases, I just tried middlemand, and it works fine, am logged in straight away and playing.
Very easy to get running if you're on Linux.
