Player spends several hours straight playing EQL = Powergaming
Player spends several hours straight playing P99 = Waiting for one raid mob to spawn

We are not the same.

-The game attracts no-lifers. Although its a far-cry from the difficulty of OG EQ, and very casual friendly: This game brings out the worst quality of modern gamers. People who play for days in a row without a break. Many servers had level 46-50 toons with hundreds of AAs after just 3-4 days of servers launch. For nothing else: it's sad knowing that people are destroying their lives still over this game. In a Beta, where every character will get wiped on July 28th, nonetheless. Especially because most of the people playing these days are in their 30s, 40s, 50s and onward. Sitting for long periods of times at those ages does irreversible damage to the health of your body. I imagine they are not exercising at all, eating healthy, etc... It makes me sad, is all.
Apparently the old Chardok AoE groups has trivialized leveling and gathering AAs.

A maximum of 8 targets on a higher level dungeon using pointblank AoE stuns, AoE Damage still works amazingly well.

In May there was a critical balance adjustment that was deployed shortly after the game's initial launch to combat extreme "AoE damage" leveling strategies. Before this change, classes like Wizards could pull and vaporize more lots of monsters simultaneously.

Who would of thought 8 targets is just the right number on a high dungeon level?

Lets see after they go live it it gets changed again.

I found that most people were down a group. I’ve only met one or two random people that wouldn’t reply to tells but everybody else was down a group. I feel like grouping is vastly superior than not grouping. You could sit there and camp a mob all you want, but me and my group can camp that mob and like five other mobs and all have the same rate of loot and everybody just gives loot to each other because who gives a shit

In terms of toxicity, I found it to be a wonderful place however, I was banned for being toxic because retards are to fragile to talk to strangers in an online game these days.
Details please. What did you say? How did they react? Who banned you? Was any of this funny?

Botten I was trying your sk wiz nec strat, and it was a lot of fun, but yeah when you AOE 4+ mobs like with a rain spell, it only hits them once.

3 maybe even... i couldn't figure out the math for optimal AOE pulls and dps but it felt like doing 2x mobs at a time would hit rain spells 3x times but 3+ would hit twice and 4+ would hit once.

I didnt really notice if the PBAOE was only hitting 8 mobs if i had more in the camp but i definitly wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.

yeah wave spells have always been resisted or worked weirdly. You don't want to use Rains since they hit so few targets....
(Side Note: Only saw this once on P99.... Charm a mob with something like puppet string and give it a Sword of Skyfire wait until it procs and then feign; especially in a group of mobs. When the second wave hits you will see the weirdest slaughter fest.)

But yeah before Chardok was patched entire groups with wizards and enchanters would gather mobs then run them back to a group to be Point Blank AoE stun by a chanter and then Point Blank AoE nuked down by 3 wizards or more.

You need a group you can do something similar on EQ legends but only 8 targets.
Even with just eight targets the dungeon levels make it worth it.

That sounds very much like how to initiate the old pit war strategy in potactics as I understand it, but I don't understand it.

I hit mob it die? OK

Rains are great for just pure dps single target, or double, I still cast them on 4+ pulls too

Basically right now with the build you came up with my combat is:

1. tank the hell out of a bumch of merbs
2. cast Rain DD
3. Cast PBAO DD
4. Cast Life tap.
5. cast rain dd repeat.

on a single target do the rain + DD and it just CRUSHES them so fast. Its so fun!

People often comment about the dps this build is doing and so far I am the the best tank for grouping, I actually swapped to war because my pet was getting agro but war has some great AOE agro, so i just grab agro on everything, tank and blow it all the F up. Lifetap to full.

It's so fun! Glad you suggested it.

During a tranix pull I was thinking when kunark comes out i might swap to Shm Nec Wiz

because I really dont use melee dps unless im just being lazy. Nice to be lazy sometimes, but its nicer to just rain+DD to just crunch the enemies.

War Shm Wiz would probubly be an epic combo too, but you lose the drain soul! I want that drain soul -_-

I messed around with MNK / BER / ROG yesterday, and boy was it fun. Deleting mobs very quickly. Backstab, Round Kick, Tiger Claw, Frenzy cooldowns all halved with Berserker Stance.. and Poisons too.

Might be what I roll with when the launch happens. Also the best part is doesnt require any spells... only trips to town to re-stock.

Did they separate the melee attack cooldowns (like kick and stuff)?
