Pint. Crawling out of the woodwork, damn.

Everyone is having fun being an uber you today. I'm following a guild that is doing EQL.

Disposable income is common among our demo, and people are bored, and so forth. So EQL has a base of subs.

I would rather goof off in classic or even a tlp than "invest" myself in this over-sugared no-legs amusement ride called Uber You.

I can't bring myself to try it. I'm seeing how it works and I'm not seeing the appeal. I can twink myself anytime I like.

And I'm hiding no Secrets here, ok?

Looked cool to me so I played the beta. Still waiting for them to greenlight boxing on blue for me to reignite my p99 habit.

It is down now to the tastes of how one plays the game. And, wishes to enjoy it now. What if one enjoyed being a buff/debuff class? Or, maybe even better, what if you enjoyed the grim solitude of being a necromancer?

What if one hated combat animations so never played a combat class? People can get trifling with eq, I've seen it, I am it.

The company warehousing the IP, one theory goes, wants to be able to demonstrate the moldability of the game, to show a) there is still a curious market and b) they will subscribe to some mash of this IP for x months.

At which the warehouse can dump the IP for the best price they can ever hope for, and that is what EQL has a vested interest in making as big as possible, come hook or by crook, because those are their subs.

It's clever.

Data on the TLP Frostreaver server at https://www.everquestguides.com/frostreaver/

I am assuming Live and EQL share the same player base. The raw graph is not dramatic:

But the 7-day does make the trend clear:

Since I doubt any live player is cancelling their subs, or ongoing character plans on live, all we are doing is observing how much disposable cash and time eq players actually have for this Uber You version of the everquest nintendo. We can clearly assume interest.

No idea if these numbers meet Jawn's needs. If it does, they've won. This demo won't cancel a 20 dollar a month game as long as they're strung in.

I'm assuming our player base in 2026 is only the finest quality of weirdo, no OD's or "damn I forgot the baby was in the bath" guild drama anymore. So maybe Jawn has a year-long game of ~20,000 nominally functional human beings.

Jawn would like those 20,000 players to stick around. The players are in that "if you have to worry about this, I feel sorry for you" stage of dropping a hunnert bucks on pay to play.

People in general have funny ways of enjoying being a sucker whilst at the same time arguing, this is not sucking, but riches you see. I get it. I pay a couple grand a year to see the Cleveland Orchestra. What, Spotify is too good for me? I'm clearly just a sucker.

The Euro server idea wasn't great. The ping difference doesnt make much difference in EQ and I would have gone with either 1 or none.
