If the guildies in the group wanted to set that rule at the time you joined, that would be fine because you could of course agree to it or just say no thanks and not join the group.

But if they didn't set the loot rule at the beginning then they can't do it retroactively.

My experience with petitions like that was "Don't group with people you don't trust" and petition closed.
