Things better than AC:

1. Turn off attack when you are below 40% hp while raid tanking. One repost is multiple bis items.
2. Use wort potions when you turn off attack and notice a CH bar isn't about to land.

This is a very good point, I try to remind people of it as well. You are going to be swapping out items for resist gear. You should think about which item slots are more likely to be swapped out for resist gear, when deciding which gear to acquire via raiding.

This applies to all gear, not just HP/AC gear.

As a simple example, you wouldn't want to get https://wiki.project1999.com/Ring_of_Destruction as your first 100 HP item, because https://p99.funcamp.net/Velium_Diamond_Wedding_Ring has higher resists. This means you may need to swap out your Ring of Destruction if you aren't swimming in good resist gear.

That is why I believe https://wiki.project1999.com/Shawl_of_Protection is probably the best item in the game. It has like 4 items worth of all resists in one slot, and that slot happens to be a lower stat slot in general.

Get a Shawl of Protection, and you will have a lot more flexibility when it comes to what items you need to swap out for resist gear on any class.
