The screen cap was supposed to be for a tumblr, concerning the adventures of starting a guild.

I think you're suggesting it was best for her to ignore me, but the reason the screenshot is posted here is because she ignored me after I heeded her suggestions and proposed something more in line with what she said would be appropriate. You can see that the first time is an apology for the last time I interacted with her, a few days before, which went pretty much the same way but without being screencapped. In fact, in the previous interaction I found out she had ignored me upon sending a /tell containing a sincere apology for wasting her time, saying that I would reconsider the guild name.

She's not being professional. She's handing /petitions from people that don't have a clear understanding of naming guidelines due to wobbly precedents and getting offended, snappy, and assuming a personal affront rather than providing guidance (guide being the root word here) about current naming policy. On top of that, she's making snide remarks about past guides' decisions, pretending that her subjective perspective is the most valid.

And, really? Virgin? That's totally fantasy oriented. Shittons of fantasy stories involve stuff like sacrificing a virgin: VIRGIN to the point that the whole fucking kingdom knows it and might as well be a tag floating over their head. This perspective that doesn't allow this in a fantasy setting is similar to a person that would petition to have sex education from their schools because of some uber-christian upbringing.

You said it far better than I could have. The response I received from it was akin to "I do not have the authority to help you; therefore, further discussion is fruitless." It would seem to me that if I could not help someone, I would not endeavor to try to respond to their petition, but rather allow someone who can to do so. The attitude that previous guides' decisions have no precedent to its decisions is particularly disturbing.

Specifically in relation to your petition, on the criterion of distinguishing what is unacceptable from what is not, it appears as though an overwhelming majority of the current guilds in existence have inappropriate names. In cases like these, I endeavor to say that we only see power being used when it does not disrupt the order of things: renaming "Divinity" for having a name that "exists in real life" would be quite a disruptive task whereas moderating an as-of-yet unheard of guild's name is quite a trivial matter. Power that is only used when it is convenient is not particularly useful as a tool for law and order, nor is it useful as a tool for guidance.

You guys realize if you have questions regarding decisions of Guides, talking about it in RnF doesn't do jack shit.

It never has lead to anything other than a week's worth of discussion, arguements, insults and other various responses BY THE PEOPLE.

Whereas, if you go about it the correct way, which is up the management ladder rather than posting in rnf, you gain credibility. Forming a well thought-out arguement and providing valid points against the use (or misuse) of logic/power from a guide generally yeilds results (if, once again, they are valid).

Write up a post, pm it to Rogean and Nilbog, post it in petitions, and get into MIRC and try to talk to Rogean/Nilbog about it there. They are always in mIRC, and while they will probablly not respond to a PM, they'll still read it.

But trying to get something done from the RnF community is not going to do shit for you other than mark you as a whining idiot. Go through the proper channels in a respectful manner and get something done.
