skill rate gain

Before I start talking about if this is a bug or not, I wanted to make sure this was not because of red99's current accelerated xp rate.

I'm finding that skills go up VERY fast. Defense especially is something that is supposed to go up fairly slow, but it and all the other skills are just shooting up to their new max levels within several kills into a new level.

On blue99, are skills going up faster then what people remember from "classic"?

I'm gonna tell you right now, as someone who has two accounts worth of toons on Al'kabor (eq planes of power era server), the skill gain rate here (well on Red99) is MUCH faster then there.

Is anyone else thinking skill rate gains are too fast? i.e. not classic?

i've actually noticed the opposite on my ranger. my weapon skills go up slow as hell. off/def/taunt/bash/kick has always capped really fast, though, from what i remember
