I don't like the idea of exp week, probably because I'm already 50 and have no desire to do it over again lol.

On a different note, I really hope this exp bonus is a one time thing, even if the server comes down again. I'm not sure anyone will understand or be familiar with my reference, but during the Korean war, American PoWs were brainwashed through a pretty simple process: getting them to do things they would not normally do one step at a time, eventually building up to make these PoWs become completely irrational and change allegiances to the Korean side.

I guess this will be a better example:Getting a new car and telling your friends not to eat or drink in it. One of your friends asks if they can chew gum, and you don't want to say yes but you comply. Next, someone asks if they can bring a drink in your car, and once again, you don't want to say yes, but you do. Taking that first little step makes one that much more inclined to take another little step.

Anyways, I'm rambling, but the point of this is, The GMs are granting this 50% exp bonus for the downtime. I hope this will be a one time thing, but I worry the GMs may be more easily inclined to grant future exp bonuses or things of this nature. I also saw something about people receiving potential prizes or gifts for their donations. It's fine if we have to pay for this game, which I'd be more than willing to, but trading money for advantages is going to ruin this server and make it like all the other emulated servers.

Hopefully I don't get flamed for this, I'm just expressing my concerns for the well-being of the server.

Haha, Juice talking about the ruining of the server -- when he doe more to contribute to people leaving than any other 20 people combined. Lets take a little test --

To which character do all of the following apply?

1) Frequent ragequits groups leaving them with no tank, sometimes taking shaman bot with him.
2) Kicks people from group for winning rolls on rare, but crappy items that he wanted.
3) Gets kicked from guild(s) after exhibiting behavior #2 above.
4) Admits on multiple occassions to 2 boxing (btw 2 boxing means controlling 2 characters at the same time, not necessarily on the same computer).
5) Forces groups to reform without him because hes a blithering idiot.

I am sure that this list isnt exhaustive as I these are just the items I witnessed personally before i added Juice to /ignore.

Oh yeah, if you answered Juice, congratulations, you have aced the quiz.

I remember on the NMA-Fallout forums when FO3 was announced being impressed by the incredibly volatile fanbase...like every post was a ragepost.

I think we may actually be able to compete with them here in terms of raw hostility. grats p1999, haha.

I agree 100%. This is a very bad idea. I am a new member, joining a few weeks prior to the ddos attack. While the experience bonus would be nice, I strongly disagree with it! I believe it it hurts the integrity of the game and once any exception is made to a process it highly increases the chances that others will be made. This is fact.

Another reason is that it's not fair. What if someone is traveling on business next week and unable to play? They waited as long as the rest of us, but why should they miss out on the experience bonus? Plus, if i wanted easy experience I'd stay on the EZ server.

On a side note, excellent job with everything else!!

yeah i agree, an xp bonus, while a nice gesture may be a little too un-classic for most (and this is coming from someone without a level 50)

I don't really get the whole "unfair" aspect people keep mentioning with regard to the XP bonus. I mean really sometimes I just can't play EQ that day I don't want everyone else to be penalized for my RL getting in the way.

I don't care either way I already hit 50 I just think it's rude to bitch about it when Rogean is basically just trying to say "THANKS" for everyone being patient and putting up with this bullshit. It's a nice gesture and hardly game breaking. *shrug*

I haven't played a single bit yet on this server, because I only found out about it during this downtime period. That said, an XP bonus for a week is just stupid. The whole idea of p99 to me is that it's not for the faint of heart and it's a challenge.

If you want something with an XP bonus, go play WoW

I agree wholeheartedly - I'm definitely against the XP bonus... I even plan on rerolling my main (yea, only level 9, just started, but even so) and still would prefer things to be normal.

Just our 2 cents for future xp bonus notions :]

But besides that, damn happy to have the servers back soon. I am scrambling to get my classic EQ fix...

I voted against the xp bump - since I'm afraid its going to feel a little peq-ish. But it's not a showstopper being only a week.

Hmm...or maybe I'll start an SK alt [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
