Nuclear weapons are a strange lot.

As soon as xyz country gets a nuke or two and a capable delivery system (or really not even that in the case of iran, being just a short jaunt over iraq to the greater israel area) they get political power. Why do you think europe stopped fighting? :P

The interesting outcome of this would be if we didn't stop nuclear proliferation, two things would result. One would be that as smaller and smaller subdivisions had nuclear capabilities, they could essentially make themselves smaller and smaller countries, as invasion would become less of a possibility, buuut...

With greater amounts of stockpiles of varying degrees of security, it could also lead to accidents, and nuclear accidents are just the worst kind of accidents o_O

Makes you wonder though--what would we say if Greece or something was developing nuclear power in an attempt to become energy self-sufficient? How would the EU respond to that? (I'm not familiar with Greece's situation in that regard and I realize it's an impossibility economically for that country, just curious if a friendly nation would begin developing it what would be the end result? Or are 'friendly nations' synonomous with 'nuclear nations' ?)

Iran?

Israelis hate'em and they've pissed the Saudis off too. Don't think we need to do anything at all tbh.

Iran has been testing new ballistic missile technology and moving their nuclear program into bunkers and upping enrichment. They are trying to build a nuclear weapon there is no doubt.

You really know nothing about the Iran situation, its pretty obvious. No one wants to stop any country from having nuclear energy . We offered to build and show Iran how to make nuclear energy if they promise not to make weapons. They declined because they want weapons.

Not going to quote every reply so let me just cut to the chase.

Iran? there is no evidence they are making a nuke, just assumptions by the governments that are threatening to invade them.

Iran hasn't invaded or attacked another country in the past 200 years, how many has USA and Israel attacked? who's the real threat?

Ahmadinejad sent a letter to both Bush and Obama and both denied having an open meeting on ties between both countries and both times the US Presidents did not reply.

Iran supporting Taliban? Iran is actually at war with Taliban and Al-Qaeda, do your research, the only country that supported them in history was USA [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

All these sanctions on Iran has made Iran an even stronger country because they are so self dependent now, We in the west should learn.

US has enough nukes to blow up the earth 20 times, Israel has many nukes also. they are worried about Iran making one? and they aren't even 100% sure if they are even building one.

..Ron Paul for president

meanwhile on wednesday Israel (which has 75-400 nuclear warheads and is a non-signatory to the NPT) tested a ballistic missile while making public statements about bombing Iran

but they're not brown, so daldolma won't say anything about that incident being a threat to instability and nuclear proliferation in the region
