So the wrapper is the newest. I don't keep release versions in mein noggin.

Use the newest engine here (at time of post it's 1.7.4): http://www.mediafire.com/wineskin#u3ekk5q5y3fb1

If that link doesn't work, go to: http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php -> click "Downloads" in the box -> The find "Mediafire.com Wineskin download location" -> http://www.mediafire.com/wineskin -> find the newest one

*also download newest Winetricks from the advanced menu

Here's my video walkthrough for making your own p99 game from scratch

This is on a 2012 macbook air using version 10.8.5
If something was explained wrong, let me know and I'll do a better take!

I followed your great tutorial to the letter but unfortunately I ended up with the same black screen containing a rectangle of pink & white letters; but this time it didn't say EULA. I am on OSX 10.6.8 if it matters.

I did notice that in the UI folder of the wrapper mine has "default" and an "old default" folder, which yours did not contain. I tried temporarily moving the "old default" and starting the program but it was the same.

I really appreciate all the time and effort that many of you have given to help us Mac users out. I'll check back in when I have more time to dedicate to finding a fix.

Thanks again.

As a last note: As you may have observed, I am using a macbook pro but have a secondary monitor (Syncmaster) that I use as my main monitor. Not sure if the issue is truly graphics related but I thought it should be clarified if it's part of the equation.

Seem to be getting allot of these:
fixme:d3d:buffer_PreLoad Too many declaration changes or converting dynamic buffer, stopping converting

Thanks

Yo. In the video they clearly show that they are using the same outdated engine that you are using. You are on an older Mac, as am I.

I solved THE EXACT same issue you are having by upgrading the ENGINE, not the WRAPPER, to the most current version.

The dude that made the video above did not have this issue, so good for him. But I did, and you are now, and I posted several times on how I solved the issue.

I imagine since we are on similarly aged systems, this is an issue for us, and not the dude with the tutorial.

Use the wrapper download included at the beginning of this thread, and upgrade the engine as I have suggested. THIS IS A SEPARATE DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION PROCESS which I gave links to in a previous post (and you'll have to upgrade the wrapper too if you are starting fresh).

I got all of my tips from the WineSkin forums. They have a compatible gaming database. I cross referenced my errors with their current support forums for games to find glitch parallels.

After you install everything as I've instructed, come back and ask me how to get rid of the d3d lag issues, messed up pointer, how to upgrade the textures and whatever else you need.

I followed this video and got everything up and running (Thanks! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]) with a 2010 MBP on 10.6.8. I was able to up the gamma in wine but still have an issue with my trackpad.

Trying to open bags (two finger click) doesn't always work, I usually have to spam it a few times for it to go through, anyone else seen this issue?

Be sure to upgrade your engine AND wrapper. I don't use two finger click with my trackpad so enabling right click through Key Press was an easy solution for me.

GL!

Great tutorial. Follow these steps and was up in running in no time. Had issues originally with it not running at all due to out of date wineskin but this fixed all my issues!

I did the same setup, but can't for the life of me figure out the fonts part.

I've installed core fonts through wine tricks, but where do they end up? Tried copying the fonts from user/library/fonts. The results are the same. I get to log in to the game, and tho the graphics seems fine all text is grainy and hard to read.

Anyone have any tips for the fonts part?

Thanks!
