Mobs have always been able to backstab with any weapon, or without one. Dunno about the 125, that seems a little high considering a rogue of that level backsabs for like 50. I've noticed that rogue mobs tend to backstab extremely hard, including one notorious level 22 mob that backstabs for 210.
