![]() So, from what Daldaen is saying, late game, there actually is a noticeable difference in end stats/viability of the character. HE druids are not as good as other druids I learned, granted, it may not make or break the character, but it is definitely noticeable. It is safe to assume the same for other combos of classes/races. /sad

The Half-Elf has only three flaws: 1. their leather hat graphic is rather ugly. 2. their chain hat graphic redefines ugly in a way that is so special that a single forum post cannot possibly do it justice. 3. they are allowed to be Bards There is an easy work-around for the first two, and they can even be twisted into something of a virtue when putting together a fashion victim ensemble to rival that of any troll. The third item cannot be blamed on Half-Elves, as it is clearly the worst of the myriad flaws to be found in their progenitors and it is neither right nor just to blame a child for the horribly defective inheritance foisted upon them. Beyond those three aforementioned blemishes on the Half-Elf's near-perfection, the rest is pure gold. No other race is half as good looking as the Half-Elf, and the awe-inspiring gleaming bell-bottom effect of the plate wearing Half-Elf female is a reward without parallel for those twisted pseudo-furry mangina types amongst us. Someday, very soon I hope, the Fine Plate dyes will find their way onto this lovely server and we shall be once again treated to the ultimate classic EQ fashion statement: the whip-wielding female Half-Elf Warrior decked out in black plate from head to toe :swoon: Also, seriously, worrying about the depth of your mana pool at L60 is 99.99987% e-peen worship. It ain't the size of the prize baby, it's the motion of the ocean.

![]() Well, for casters stats are pretty unimportant IMO because everyone will be able to max int/wis without too much work. You might have a bit less in HP/mana/resist gear or whatnot but it won't make or break your character. I play a gnome enchanter and I don't feel any real difference.
For melee I think things are a bit more important since they have way more stats to max and have additional requirements as well like AC. And I do tend to notice (for example) an ogre warrior is going to have 60 more strength, 30 more stamina, and 10 more dexterity than my iksar, and the lack of stats on seb scale armor only makes that worse. So if we are both at 60, I believe my weapon multiplier will be [250+(135-75)]/100 = 3.1 while his will be perhaps [250+(200-75)] = 3.75, which is maybe 10-15% extra damage, not to mention maybe 175 extra hitpoints from the stamina. Overall though I would say that the special abilities really trump the stats. As nice as the stats are, the reason to play ogre is frontal stun immunity. Or even a DE vs a gnome enchanter: hide is very nice just to go afk from time to time.

![]() Why, oh why... are Iksars so futile compared to other classes? I really want to play a Ikky Necro, but I fear not being able to hunt in the spots I want to, rather being confined to Kunark due to the lack of merchants... I'd love to play one, and i'm sure the benefits would be there, but the lack of merchants on a new character who NEEDS money is a character killer...
Can Iksars go and sell in Neriak btw? Or any other areas around Antonica? I must know!!!!!!

![]() Just play the race you want to play, I think it way better to have an odd combo than a cookie cutter same as everyone else character. Does having a bit more mana really make that much difference? If its only max mana and not the regen it effects. Would agree that troll and iskar regen is a bonus though.

Being an iksar isn't as bad as you think. Make a few friends, have them turn copper/silver/gold into plat and buy you peridots. They're light weight, stackable, and much lighter than carrying around money when you're off of Kunark.

![]() Thats a good idea... I'm just trying to figure out which class to play as an Ikky... I played a monk on live and know more about pathing, pulling and the likeness... too much to be honest - but I don't know if I could go through that pain again. My time is limited... Again, ikky monk is worse than any other class.. while peridots aren't too heavy, I can't imagine doing it all as a Monk. Lol... all those hours spent maxing every skill at every single gain in level... that was so so so rough.
I hear monks are overloaded on the server though, and I just dont have the time to commit to another monk... So Ikky Shaman, Necro or Warrior... Probably going to do that Shaman... I laughed at how the hardest parts of the Shaman epic werent the fights etc... but having to wait and listen / read all that text... come on man... How can they do that when Magicians have to go through hell?

![]() Don't forget that Iksar get an innate AC bonus which is something like +60 AC at level 60. Like wearing an extra BP. While they can't wear plate in Kunark, in Velious it wasn't an issue - making them the best Warriors.
Also, Ogres get frontal stun immunity which makes them the best possible shaman. Being able to get a slow or root off in a dire situation is integral.
