Default Benefits of server wide PvP declarations.

I think this would really boost the moral of the server in general and encourage people to get to roughing it up a little. With server wide pvp death reports like what was present on TZVZ, and without the addition of a server wide chat the discussion would stay localized and be much friendlier which would avoid the large flame wars that have happened in the past. Just think of all the extra PvP this would encourage.

At this point, i think people just want to see the GM's actually do something or give an indication that they plan to do something.

I just got started on the server myself so am not really up on all that stuff but I do know this is the cleanest pvp server as far as the bugs seem to go. I just think this would encourage a lot of pvp. People would be encourage more to look for that resist gear and what not because they want to have their names on the right side of the announcements more. If we can get some people behind this and if its easy to implement why not try it or something similar?

Yellow text is stupid, Rogean already said it wasn't going in. Every time this is mentioned I make the exact same argument and no one responds except to call me a "fag" or a "pussy". News flash: being opposed to YT doesn't mean I'm afraid of pvp. It just means that I think this server shouldn't be turned into an FPS where the singular goal of everyone playing is to kill everyone you can indiscriminately, regardless of whether there's a good reason. Classic pvp wasn't like that. Some players were anti PK's, some players were PK's, some were elf-slayers, etc. Yellow text encourages people to kill just for the sake of killing.

I understand what you are saying and I agree with you. Sometimes grief killing gets in the way. I'm suggesting giving it a shot for about a week and see if it works out for the overall good or bad of the server. At worst it will stir up some excitement while encouraging people to log back in to give it a try.

You seem nice but the staff tend to not try out different ideas on a trial basis just because there's some demand. I think global ooc will accomplish the same goal and that's likely to go in soon anyway. There's no real compelling reason to try YT, even if only for a week.

if you haven't noticed bud, this server isn't 100% classic.

I know the goals of this project are vaguely defined, but I think it's assumed that the devs (and the players) want to more or less recreate the charm of classic eq pvp. One thing that many people enjoyed about classic pvp was the diverse community, among whom were players with varying self-imposed rules of engagement (like the examples I gave earlier - PK's, anti-PK's, elf supremacists, etc). So regardless of whether the server is 100% classic, it's still relevant for me to bring up how the community was on classic eq pvp servers because that's what many people are looking for when they roll on this server.
