Because the only way to ban someone using a auto clicker is going to be with visual confirmation..other then that its going to be speculation.

I think anyone, staff or not, is intelligent enough to watch someone and tell if it's a bot or not.

Good luck!

Why would you tell people that programs that are bannable are not detectable?
There was a post a few months or so back, and I believe Amelinda replied that they visually look for those people, then test them to see if they are AFK or not.

I think the GMs have the ability to see what processes are running on your machine through a dll.
This would be a little bit too invasive.

I doubt they can see a bot not related with eq.

Simply put if you are thinking of AFK Macroing, no matter what the program, don't do it because chances are you will get banned.

I'm pretty sure that the dll doesn't snapshot what processes you have running, that would be quite invasive. It only checks for programs that actively modify the process like MQ.

Just to clear this up, hes not thinking of AFK botting or anything. He runs a bot for his facebook games and didn't want to get in trouble on p1999 in the even they were unable to differentiate what application the program was generating key clicks for.

In my opinion this is a very valid question since facebook games such as Farmville are extremely popular, and many of the players use bot programs to gather items and do farming for them while they are AFK or doing something else. So, if someone was to have their farmville bot taking care of all their farmville tasks while they play on p1999 legitimately, would there be a possibility of them being banned for running a program that generates key clicks even though it had nothing to do with EQ?

I dont even play any more, but this is actually a question that could affect people who have no intention of cheating or botting in EQ, but could potentially be banned because of the way they play facebook games.

You can't just do the Facebook stuff during EQ downtime? The boundaries on laziness are getting ridiculous. I'd never risk it.

The thing is I want to be playing EQ not checking something else for 5 minutes every med break. Although I tried it and the program got me killed, turns out it will auto min my EQ window to do the clicks on my FB page... bhaha nybrights got me :-(....soooo yeah not worth it LOL.

Thanks Arkyani for articulating my question in detail!
