if losing 2-3% at most a couple of times a nite from pvp death (probably once if they are smart) deters them from playing im pretty sure hell levels will kill them in RL
Explain to me how to be smart about contesting a raid mob when you are undernumbered. Beside not contesting.

EQ classic PvP was designed to carry significant risk.

We don't need to lessen the risks to make it more palatable to players that would rather play a painless PvP game where they can have uninterupted PvP suffering dozens of deaths night.

Like Classic EQ, I would like to see the risks increased by adding in item looting, let the farmers have something to fear with the pimped out characters risking losing their cool gear.

If we are going to stray further from Classic EQ, I say lets go higher risk. Add an item damage on death system that allows limited repairs but ultimately gear breaks and needs to be replaced.

I'm starting to lean towards item loot myself.

No weapons.

Theres a difference with what you are saying i am suggesting, and what i am suggesting.

I am saying to at least bring back some of the classic penalties for dying in pvp instead of this custom xp loss thing. Which is, respawning with low health low mana. This way we dont scare the new blood off the server.

I know some of you would rather have a dead server than a server where you cant bind camp people till they rage quit because of xp loss but you are close to getting your dead server.

We didn't have exp loss upon pvp death back on TZ, and that was one of the greatest gaming experiences i ever had.

Let's just be happy with our exp bump shall we? Server is good now, try not to pester devs too much imo.

The game is already harsh for those who don't have 6-16 hours a day to play.

Itemloot =casters paradise and bagging. This would also force Class balance to be cried over endlessly.

I understand we shouldnt pester devs too much but im trying to help them help the server, Im not as optimistic as you are.

Its still a big grind (agreed much better though) and I dont trust the "core" playerbase to not use xploss as a way to boot people off the server for lulz. This bump is good for how long in helping pop recover, not sure.

I don't think ANYONE who plays on THIS server wants to lower the population.

I think the players who randomly grief are a bigger issue than exp loss. Griefing for revenge I encourage. (just to be clear).

Excess griefing, and I mean EXCESS, should be policed. Nothing harsh, maybe 7day? They aren't exploiting, but the victims NEED visible justice.(7days is a long time to risk for CC or BC random "new players")

the xp bonus more than compensates for the xp loss from pvp death.
