Common scam in mmo's


the phantom roommate, brother, friend, etc

They can't give it back to you because they don't know where their brother put it.. and it would be impossible to talk to them >_>




Another scam is to fake your "death" for a clean slate because the account was "given" to a good friend or they had access to passwords or w/e.



The sell the account scam..

Seller later retrieves the account back with password recovery (or better yet on a server that doesn't allow you to change passwords like P99) or report yourself hacked.

or even a combination like dude it wasn't me who stole your stuff it was my (phantom) dick brother lulz.



Those are some common ones I've seen in various RnF forums.

I do recall something like this, the guy had a signature/sign off at end of each post and he responded as person 2 with person 1's signature.... Then few pages later he claimed it was a joke. I know it used show up under something like most stupid flame war mistakes.

Is this the infamous [ Page 8 ] thread you're talking about?

That part of having two accounts, and mistakenly posting with one of them when he meant to post with the other, reminds me of that.
