Default Issue with Mouseview

Hello,

I'm new to Project 1999 and first of all I'd like to express my utmost gratitude to the good old EQ community which is, as ever, unmatched; and more specifically I'd like to thank the people behind Project 1999 who have done an incredible job.

I have a small issue with Mouseview in the game, I spent quite some time trying to solve it but I must be missing something obvious. When in 3rd person view, just like on EQ live servers or WoW (if this term isn't banned here [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]), right clicking on the screen and moving the mouse lets you look around WITH your character following the move. **However**, LEFT clicking, which enables you to look around WITHOUT your character following the move on EQ live servers or WoW, does not seem to work on Project 1999, simply selecting whatever was where the cursor was instead of activating mouseview camera.

Is there an option I'm missing or an easy fix, and if not, how do you people play? Always in 1st view, old school way I guess? I like to play in 3rd view more than every now and then, nowadays...

Many thanks in advance if anyone can help! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

This feature is called "Mouselook" on EQ and was not put in until Seeds of Destruction. As such it only works with the Seeds of Destruction and Underfoot clients which, while 100% compatible with the other EQEmu servers (and imo are much better than shitty Titanium) those clients do not work on Project 1999. Titanium is several years too old for Mouselook and does not have that functionality.

Thus issue is unfixable. =/

Hello Danyelle,

Thanks for the info [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] So I guess people play in 1st view then? Or were there keys to move around the camera as well? Can't remember xD

Cheers

F9 and the regular scrolling out with the mousewheel to look behind your character are your only options with Craptanium, yes. =/

I don't understand how anyone can play EQ in anything but 1st person mode.

The smaller your character, the easier it is to play in 3rd person. On my Ogre, I pretty much live at 1st person. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Depends on the situation. Sometimes while running I from point A to point B I find myself going into 3rd person and staring at just how hot my little DE is. This is especially true when on a CR so I can watch dat ass.

And in a serious note I tend to play in 3rd person on groups and sometimes raids (while clearing trash), angled just right, to see pulls better.
