Default Apple to partner with Microsoft in joint PC effort

"Apple is pleased to announce a collaboration with Microsoft to begin creating a line of Windows-based laptops and PCs," announced Benjamin Kleins at the 2012 Apple WWDC keynote address in San Francisco on June 11, 2012. "Research has shown that the average consumer wants a machine that is easy to use like their familiar Windows-based computers, but with the style and sensibility that Apple provides."

Dubbed the WinBook Pro, participants were able to catch a glimpse of this new offering last Monday. The design parallels the already familiar MacBook Pro but runs the Windows 7 operating system.

"For years now, feedback has been fairly unanimous," explained Apple product designer Joseph Saluski. "Windows computers are easy to use but are mostly function over form. Apple computers are hip and chic, but tedious for most to utilize and they are innately alienating towards PC gamers. I'm proud to be working on a product that can please both crowds."

Apple plans to make the WinBook Pro which will have similar specs to the newly announced MacBook Pro (complete with 2048x1536 retina display) available by Christmas with similar desktop PCs coming in the following year.
