I played on P1999 for a bit before my computer ate itself and I just recently got it up and running again.
I got EverQuest reinstalled. I still have my EQEmu account information. I get the emulator launcher, try to run it, it all works fine. Click on Project 1999 on the server list and I get an error saying "You do not have enough permissions to the specified EverQuest-Directory. Aborting patching..." I look and nothing in the EQ folder (or even that harddrive, it's dedicated only to games) is set as Admin only (even then, I'm logged in as admin). So I'm thinking I missed something somewhere. I followed the Getting Started guide, even uninstalled and tried a second install with the same issue. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. | ||

windows 7 is retarded with permissions. what i like to do is when i re-install windows, delete the default user it asks you to create during the install, then rename the admin user to whatever you would use and just use that user as your main. this solves all the admin privilege issues. if you decide to do this after you have been using the same user account for a while and not after a fresh format, make sure you backup your folder
