wipe red server and make it a new classic blue. I am sure it will draw more than 50 people on peak.

Make a Classic Blue that stops before Kunark? Would people play this?
I'd like to say no, but our peak before Kunark was higher than our peak as of 3 months after Kunark. Besides that lining up with the mass-Show-EQ-punishment, it can also be attributed to it being harder to find groups 20-50. Mid-Level zones aren't nearly as grouped as they were pre-Kunark.

And wow, it's been like half a year since we've seen one of these "BURN IT DOWN AND START OVAR!!!" threads. I miss them.

First, the people who have paid over $30,000+ real life dollars for stuff on this server
are not going to agree to a wipe.

Second, all the early people who exploited and dupped their way to millions of gold are not going to agree to start over.

Third, the people who have been collecting level 60 accounts like candy are not going to want to start over.

Frankly, I say we do it. Sure, we would lose a certain percentage of cry babies who falls in to one of the above categories, but I bet long term the server would be healthier, and population would be higher.

Besides, will give us all something to do while waiting for velious [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Since I just started playing I say, du it!

Honestly, I have not been around long enough to have an opinion on this. Now for something completely different...[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Creating another server is a terrible idea because it would split nearly in half a population that is already too small. I would play it if there was a decent population, but that'll never happen. The demand for 13 year old MMOs is just not that great.

It is not all that bad either. Every time I go to log in there is at least ~1500 people playing some type of EQ variant. Plus I never even knew about this until I stumbled on a Reddit post. Given the state of current MMOs, I bet if more people knew about this they would play.

But yea, it still isn't "blow you away" amazing as far as demand goes.

While pre-kunark classic eq is my favorite time it's just not feasible to have a only pure classic server. When this server first started it was still relatively unknown whereas now you would have a million classic legendary items like thex daggers and such but that's not a big deal compared to the slim pickins when it comes to raids and bottlenecks, eventually the calls would come for kunark and such thus making that servers obsolete compared to the one we have now.

Not to mention the media would be all over the mass suicides that would occur from the elitists here who "worked" hard to "achieve" what they have here and then the government would shut us down surely.

I would definitely get back into P99. When I started in 2010, it was already way too late. Server was full of twinks and most folks below lvl 50 were being powerleveled. Groups were rare. Plus the effects of exploits/hacks/bugs could not be undone.

A nice new clean Blue is what we need. Count me in.

You red types can all turn in your books to the PoD. Voila. Nothing lost.

No. Idiocy.

That would break trust. If the devs were to do this even once, a precedent has been said and people would not trust that it could not happen again.

Aside from that (though that is probably reason) the devs have categorically stated that this is not going to happen. Ever.
