soloing ability as a SK

Was wondering how effective a shadowknight can be at soloing. I wanted to maybe try some solo action while I was waiting for a group to form possibly.

Are SKs viable at soloing in any areas/certain mobs at all or are they somewhat gimped in classic EQ? Would their skills at soloing in certain areas increase upon the release of Kunark/Velious?

If SK's do have some ability to effectively solo somewhat, what areas/zones could they safely and effectively do it? Does anyone who is very familiar with the class have any tips/tricks on how one can solo well as a SK?

I know at higher lvl they can snare/dot fear and melee wihth pet

but might be hard at the beginning

Yes, SK's are viable solo classes although it is a little harder than a Necro / etc
