Default Frozen beyond zone edge

So I zoned into East Commonlands while holding a Peridot with my cursor (I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the problem) and I ended up frozen in some vacant gray space outside of the zone that I cannot presently escape as paladins cannot translocate themselves without the assistance of certain items that I do not presently possess. This is what the empty gray space looks like:

This happened to my brother last night, /rewind command worked for him if you have not tried that already, hope it will help.

In this case the /rewind function did not correct the problem, I suppose it's because the character was fixed in place and thus had no movement history since entering the zone (that's what I'd guess anyway). I filed a petition to be relocated and left the character signed-in overnight, when I awoke he was outside the West Freeport city gates.
