Now if you spent your time saving the amount of money necessary to purchase the item you need at the market price, this post wouldn't be two months old. I don't see where douchbaggery comes into play with letting market forces work themselves out. | |||

^ This is not Spitty's thread. I said i would not pay 200k, this does not mean i do not have 200k.

Markets don't function efficiently in the presence of a monopoly Eccezan. You can charge whatever you want for your stuff, just don't call it the market price.

It's not really a monopoly though in the traditional sense. If other people were getting these staffs it would mean less for sale and probably a higher price. There is only a limited amount of earth staffs. I personally think this should sell for 300k given the rarity and the quality of the epic.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but TMO is the only one selling them, yes? That seems like a textbook monopoly to me.
But hey i just like trolling Spitulski's thread.

I guess it is a monopoly technically, but the normal solution for a monopoly in this situation would only further the problem.

Not only did you open with a markedly higher price (which was more than fairly counter-offered), you've increased the price multiple times and so poignantly updated us via public post in this thread. I'm sure that having guildmates express their feelings about the item price gives you more moral levity than you deserve. It happens, and thankfully I spend enough time around people of quality and of decent caliber to identify a shitty human being when I interact with one. You are right, though - I could be ingame saving my pennies for an item you are selling. An item that has no benefit to my character, a shaman. An item I only began seeking out because a friend was having trouble sourcing a few months ago. And you act as if I'm not trying to deal decently with you while you simultaneously act like these items are getting rarer. Nope, no douchebaggery at all, Eccezan.

Time to learn you spitty:
Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supply_and_demand The four basic laws of supply and demand are:[1] If demand increases and supply remains unchanged, a shortage altogether, thus leads to a higher equilibrium price. If demand decreases and supply remains unchanged, a surplus altogether, thus leads to a lower equilibrium price. If demand remains unchanged and supply increases, a surplus altogether, thus leads to a lower equilibrium price.
