I can really only see someone taking down a poorly populated emulator server because they are a faggoty prick with nothing better to do with their time than ruin a few EQ fan's fun. To think that someone would actually be claiming to do it for a "noble cause" is a load of crap, and that's what this guy is.

The only real way to stop it is to deny all access to any ports to anyone who doesn't provide a password to access the server. This would prevent bot spam from most networks. | |||
