IP restriction question

Is there some sort of timer associated with hitting the IP restriction?

A friend was over today and forgot to use his cellular card instead of my wifi and got the "You Have Been Disconnected" screen.

After switching his laptop, he continued to get the disconnect for a few minutes before finally being able to log in.


About the restriction in general: I'm happy it's here but wish it wasn't required.

I do wish there was an easy way to detect people using 3rd party software so as to not require this restriction as I much enjoyed two boxing (on two computers) back on live. But after playing for a while on another popular server that allows things like MQ2, yeah I will stick it out with not being able to run two accounts.
