Necro Pet or Mage Pet?

With the pet nerf a Mage is not a fast leveling toon anymore solo. In reality they are a pain in the ass now. But true they get into groups a lot more than a necro. But if you are a Enchanter in a group you will hate Mage pets trust me.

A mage really has no Crowd Control for crap. So be prepared to Gate a lot. A necro gets Feign Death a real nice life saver. And a Iksar is the best for Necro because of the health regen with Litch line of spells.

This is super not true. All you have to do is reclaim your pet when the monster is fleeing and hit it with a low-level nuke. Still very fast.

And not only that why bother to even buff the pet, give it weapons or pet toys when you know you are going to kill it off. So you end up with a weaker pet. And to really top it off there you are with NO pet, and no CC. Talk about hanging your butt out to dry at times when a mob is beating on you. [You must be logged in to view images. Im a mage but I can tell you by a long shot necros are more efficient and better at soloing...a lot more versatility...lich..fear...drain life. loads of options can pretty much non-stop kill. If you are asking strictly pet vs pet...mage pet is stronger than a necro pet.

I can also non-stop kill with my mage pretty much at level 39 on oggok guards....It all depends on the fight and what your fighting i guess. Both strong solo abilities and great classes...cant go wrong with either one.

I will add more more thing in favor of a Mage and that is compared to the damn Hybrid XP thingy, and say a Warrior or a Rogue even if you don't kill the pet and ONLY get 50% XP or what the hell ever it is this week, they still level a hell of a lot faster then the classes I have listed solo. They are damn good for looting. And on easy mode also compared to a Necro. So its not all gloom and doom like I made it sound. [You must be logged in to view images.
